Road America opened in 1955 as a 4.048-mile natural-terrain road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, and is one of the most historic and respected road-racing venues in the United States. The track hosted Cup Series racing in 2021 and 2022 as part of NASCAR's road-course expansion period, with Chase Elliott winning the inaugural Cup event in 2021 and Tyler Reddick taking the win in 2022. Road America fell off the Cup schedule after 2022 as NASCAR consolidated its road-course slate around Sonoma, Watkins Glen, Charlotte Roval, COTA, and the IMS Road Course. The track continues to host IMSA sports-car racing, IndyCar, MotoAmerica motorcycle competition, and the iconic 24-hour Chump Car race annually. Road America's combination of forest backdrop, signature corners like Canada Corner and the Carousel, and 4-mile length makes it widely considered one of the best road courses in North America.
Road America's 4.048-mile length made it the longest course on the Cup Series schedule during its 2021 and 2022 tenure. Its signature Canada Corner is one of the most photographed corners in U.S. road racing.
