Homestead-Miami Speedway

Homestead-Miami Speedway opened in 1995 and joined the Cup Series schedule in 1999. The 1.5-mile asphalt oval in Homestead, Florida, was reconfigured in 2003 with progressive 18-to-20-degree banking, producing a unique multi-groove racing surface where drivers can find time running from the bottom lane all the way up to the wall. Homestead served as the Cup Series season finale from 2002 through 2019 and produced eighteen consecutive years of championship-deciding finishes during the elimination-format playoff era. The track returned to the season-finale slot in 2026 after the championship rotated through Phoenix for several years. Homestead's combination of high Florida heat, aggressive tire fall-off, and a wide racing surface produces some of the most strategy-rich and physically demanding racing on the calendar.
