Alex Bowman is an American NASCAR Cup Series driver competing for Hendrick Motorsports in the No. 48 Chevrolet. He made his Cup Series debut in 2014 as a full-time rookie with BK Racing before substituting for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Hendrick Motorsports during the 2016 season. Bowman became a full-time Hendrick driver in 2018 in the No. 88 and moved to the No. 48 — the car previously driven by seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson — for the 2021 season.
